Say what? Much easier to call it Cushaw Squash – a two-toned edible squash that can weigh as much as 20 pounds. These from White House Fruit Farm near Canfield, Ohio, were good-sized. Sometimes, the striped pattern is green and white and other times orange and white like these.

I’m a semi-retired newspaper editor/writer who loves photography, especially flower macros, lighthouses, old mills and covered bridges.

    nice work Monnie xx

  • Thanks! I’d have bought one to try, but Jack isn’t much for squash and it’s way too big for me to eat all by myself.

Cool! I wonder if you could make soup with that?

  • Thanks! I’m not very knowledgeable about squash, but I can’t imagine why it wouldn’t make soup.

I think “striped squash” will do for me! LOL! Nice one! “It’s that time of year again.” This is a variety I haven’t tried yet. If we do I’ll let you know how it was!

  • For me, too – I have no idea how to pronounce the formal name!
