Old Fort Niagara, near Niagara Falls, New York, has guarded the entrance to the Niagara River since 1726. There are several buildings that can be toured as well as a gift shop and museum and a few tools of the fort trade like this old canon. Three flags on the parade grounds symbolize the three nations that have held the fort at one time or another – the United States, Great Britain and France.
