When we visited the Bodie Island Lighthouse in 2010, it was undergoing a major restoration project that began the previous year. The multi-million dollar project included strengthening the support of its 10 flights of spiral staircase, removing lead paint and many other structural and safety improvements. This spring, the lighthouse will be reopened for visitor climbing.

Wow! and Wow! again. Great shot Monnie. ( Is there a lift for old wrinklies like me? ). Cheers. Tony.

  • As one wrinkly to another, the sorry answer is NO. I’d probably make it to the top, but I no longer try unless there’s nobody else around and I have all the time in the world to get there (which never happens)! Thanks!
