Prabhupada’s Palace of Gold is a 5,000-acre estate in a very rural setting near Wheeling, West Virginia. Built in the 1970s as a memorial to the Hare Krishna group’s founder, Srila Prabhupada, it’s been dubbed the “American Taj Mahal.” It is open to the public and quite a spectacular place.

OMG and I thought I was looking at a scene from India, not the USA. I will need to check this place out. Great shot by the way.

  • Thanks – it’s not hard to find and WELL worth visiting. There’s a charge for going inside the temple, if I recall correctly (we didn’t stay long enough to do that), but the building and grounds are just amazing.

I thought you had traveled far to get this shot! Beautiful!!

  • Since I won’t get in an airplane, it would take me a while to get to anything close to this in another country! :-D Thanks, Dot!
