This afternoon I was determined to take my recently purchased Nikon D300 and discover the best configuration needed for shooting birds in flight. After flipping through “finny-million” auto focus menu’s, my solution to blurry pictures was to find and set the Focus Tracking with lock on parameters. It floors me that you spend all this money on a camera and you would think any setting should accomplish this task, but nooooo.. Nikons AF point system and the plethora of options was finally defeated today by me. Fixing my electric range oven was a lot easier though….lol

First Great Shot !! Now Nikon , canon or any camera for that matter takes awhile to get used too. At least for me it was, I has such troubles with the focus auto and manual, I sent my camera back. And although they did find focus problems wrong with it and fixed it I still seem to have trouble with focus. So don’t get frustrated this is a great shot and I love your photos!

  • Yes indeed Karen. This camera is a refurbished camera purchased on ebay from a camera store in NY. However I think since there’s so little training available and everyones suppose to understand these manuals, that alot of folks return their camera’s not knowing that we have to go inside the menu’s to create and choose things like metering and so on. It’s to be expected when you move up the food chain in equipment…lol
