I often keep my journals in my invented hieroglyphic language called Tapissary. Here is an example of en entry. The illustrations that accompany my texts were often sketches after artworks I visited at the museum, or poses I drew from a model in a workshop.

A technique I often employ begins with ink, then to layer oil pastels and/or wax crayons over it.

oil, figure, pastel, diary, language, hieroglyphs

You have developed a fascinating technique! The text and image complement each other beautifully!

  • Roz, I appreciate that you also mentioned the text as part of the balance. Thank you so much for the comments.
