Most of my work revolves around invented language and the imagery that supports it. I’ve been doing this for a couple decades. My interest in this process deepens in synch with the new wrinkles ever forming from the yearly journey. It’s as if these fine organic lines are themselves alphabetic, so all I need to do is transcribe their lessons onto paper, or canvas, or into fresh clay.
My language called Tapissary, is hieroglyphic. About 8,000 glyphs I devised over a period of 30 years, and counting. My current and newest project is to write a variation of “Alice in Wonderland” into Tapissary, and illustrate it with my drawings. It’s only in the planning stages now, but I hope to share bits of it as I make progress. It may take a couple years to complete even though it is a short story.
In the meantime, I will post other works that I have made in the past, or am working on currently. Exploring the works of other artists on this site is also something I look forward to.
