Wonderful shot. Is it possible to take pictures freely at such ceremonies ?

  • Mohsen Bayramn... replied

    • depends on photographers way of verbal communication. but simply saying, it’s so hard, even harder when women are around. but its worthy :)
Thanks alot for your visit. means alot my friend ;)

Great shot,in many ways but one thing I like about this pic its tone and color. It looks like it has been shot on film.

I am curious is this digital or film.

  • Mohsen Bayramn... replied

    • it’s a digital image, my friend! what I love most about this simple shot is the light, I just done it with the spot metering/her face…

Seems like the costume is a tribute to old persian history, the “beard” and headdress are almost identical to carvings of the kings and soldiers in Persepolis and other historical artworks centuries ago. I remember quite well the ceremonies and processions during this day when I spent 3 years in Iran years ago.
Thanks for sharing with the Art of the Middle East group

brilliant Mohsen/so much detail/think you should be taking hundreds of these as a record/maybe you do not realise fully ….......how different your country and culture is to the rest of the world /thankyou for sharing this wonderful “angel”

  • Mohsen Bayramn... replied

    • S, Thank you so much for your kind comment.
unfortunately i have just near 50 photos from the ceremonies during the 3 days/ but good for me that I have 2 or 3 acceptable photos for myself. so hard for me to photographing this way… you know, small villages, people everywhere, so much energies, so much eyes on you… but it was a fantastic experience!
so glad you do like this one, my friend :)

sometimes I take 100 and only maybe 1 appeals to my eye in the end…........ do this more often as you must sit comfortably in the crowd /look comfortable/they will also feel your energy/you should be doing crowd/street stuff at least once a week…..sorry dear friend/you are the BOSS

  • Mohsen Bayramn... replied

    • hahaa! No my dear, you words are healing!
I do really believe on what you’re saying.. it actually is my speech in the classes, but sometimes it’s so hard for myself. I’m not that shy, S, but it depends on the mood and energies around the locations.
