hi Megan,
when i started this drawing, i remembered that our daughter had done up her eyelashes, about three weeks prior, with a beautiful light blue color. my first thought was to tell her to take it off… i couldn’t, i just looked. i was fighting the thought of all the attention she was going to get, from the boys! well, it dawned on me, that with or without the blue eyelashes, the boys were going to look anyways. as i walked away, i smiled and thought “holy cow! that is too cool and how artistic is that!”.
and that’s where the blue came from

thank you Julie. there are two reasons this is so bright. 1) i found some prisma colored pencils that are almost flourescent in color. 2) the paper i used helped to make the colors brighter and 3) when i shot the art work, i used a flourescent light accompanied by a 100 watt incadescent bulb and i used the flash from the camera and held my finger in front of it (about 3 inches away) to diffuse the flash.

hahhaah, my cats… yes I reckon that could be a great size for it.. do you build your own canvas’s? If you don’t, I can give you pointers, for something like this, you should look at linen canvas :)
