Regarding the photo, you could subtly darken, sharpen and increase the overall contrast.

What sort of board do you use, and what sort of surface does it have????

I’m using an acid free cardboard, which I’m priming with Art Spectrum colorfix primer. It has quite a smooth surface before the primer goes on so its very similar to working on the colorfix sheets you buy, only bigger and buckles less
