The prize (I believe, its been a while since ive entered) is open to any medium, just as long as it is protected (i.e. properly prepared surface, its framed, medium is fixed) – I would do it if I were you.

Doesnt hurt to try.. and theres $$$ in it – if you dont ever try you wont ever win. Trust me on this one.
