It makes me very happy when my students ask questions. It means that their minds are working. But sometimes it can be a little overwhelming, especially when you get jumped by a dozen of them first thing in the morning.
I usually just growl at them and keep walking. This delights them to no end, so they become even more persistent. They will giggle and say “Ohhh teacher Don not love us!”. I then stop and explain to them that I do love all of them, but I only love them for 2 hours a week. (I have each class 2 times per week). They then spend the next 5 minutes or so feigning broken hearts.
Yo, one of my brighter students thought about this for a few minutes, and then told me that it was ok. I asked her why, and she said “Is ok , because I am love you every time, excepting NOT same 2 hours!”
She then gave me a dismissive snort of disdain, blushed at the sudden realization of her boldness, giggled wildly, and performed a very impressive disappearing act. All at the same time. They own me. (sigh)
