Sleeping Bear Dunes Beach Lake Michigan
Sleeping Bear Dunes on beautiful Lake Michigan in northwest Michigan USA. I love the geometric feel of this photo like sections of a pie graph. Work is underway to restore the dunes. Taken with a Nikon CoolPix5700
Featured 7-27-2009in the Midwestern United States and 12/15/09 in At the Edge and The Vanishing Point groups . Thank you! And thank you to the purchaser of an 8×10 matted print~

I didn’t know they were attainable via the lakeside – haven’t been there in years. When I was a child, I thought I would be cool like my dad and hop and jump down the dunes (on the opposite side). Silly me didn’t take into consideration that his legs were longer. I fumbled and ended up rolling down the dunes like a snow ball, and was digging sand out of every place on my body for what seemed like a week, even after a few showers. LOL

The actual dunes are in the distance. This is part of the park. It is an incredible dune and access is limited. It is a beautiful place. I did not venture down! Thanks for the look!
