Refinery

Thanks midzing … this was actually inspired by your Industrial wasteland . The chimney/outlet thing reminded me of a factory shot I took from the window of the Ghan a few years ago, and I added the rusty car from the recent Wintersun Festival on the Gold Coast.

thanks Sharon … I took the background image an hour or so after we said our farewells on the railway platform (Feb 2005).

Mel, I’d been putting off going to Wintersun for years because of the crowds, but this year I went for the first time, leaving home at 8am on Sunday. Parking was relatively easy. By the time I got to the main drag the rain started pouring down. Didn’t last long, and the overcast conditions were ideal for photography. Someone I know went along at midday when the sun had come out and the contrast was too strong for decent photos. The dog is a stranger … didn’t get his name.
