Tuna Tin Update...

The Tuna Tin has arrived in Sunny California, in fine health, after being launched on a journey across the seas by Andy Mercer.

I now have a tease of arrival photos, and will report on The Opening after a ritual meal of tuna noodles.

...and starting to open…

all the best for you & tuna tin ! :)

I must wait until there is daylight to open
    everything… yes, pleased and excited!

Is anyone adding up the actual miles it has traveled?

  • mmargot replied

Miles? oh my, I don’t think so!
In the original rules, however, it was specified that each artist
take 108 photographs of the opening and recreating…

    Soxy? Andy? Mileage, please!

Ha ha. Great. It’s so close. Where to next?

  • mmargot replied

Next to Scott Allison in Arizona (unless he has moved to CA!); then to SANCHEZISDEAD in Guatemala….
    ....and then…?

Great to hear it made it..

    Miles total..
Sea to Australia 500-2000 miles circa
    Melbourne to France.. ?
France to northern England 5-600 miles ?
    England to California ?

I like PB’s idea of it continuing to fly until “lost in the post” from one person to another.. I think there are certainly quite a few who are interested in receiving it.

But I also think it would be good to let Soxy see how her original tin has changed and altered along the way.

Well done to PB for having the original idea.. and congrats to Soxy for deciding to do set up the global tour !

BTW we also have a black cat which also sniffed around the Tuna Tin !

However it quickly realized the fishy parts had long since departed.. and was gone by the time I got the camera working.

    I can’t think numbers today !
Will work on it, but would appreciate anyone who can come up with
approximate miles from UK to California…

I worked out distances using this site but had to use major cities..
    http://www.indo.com/distance/

Ok Melbourne to Paris is 10442 miles
    Paris to Lancaster 420 miles
Lancaster to Los Angeles is 5250 miles

So that’s at least 16000 miles or 25749.44 kilometres.. pretty impressive for an empty Tuna Tin

  • mmargot replied

    Good Job!
...and it still has to go to South America after a little travel in the US.

Not empty! full of gifts and cheer or whatever!

hey this is great, only just caught up…we need the Andy Brain to work out how best to co-ordinate this out of control tin!

I think Margot has claimed the tin for her junk yard co-operative thingy !

Whatever happened to the famed Flying Tuna ?

  • mmargot replied

The Flying Sox may know… it left here many moons ago.
