Never letting household goods go to waste :)

Love how the bright orange here seems to be climbing its way out of that strip!

  • It is, isn’t it?! Maybe the orange is the “alt.” xo

    …cycle…recycle…cycle…gestalt…cycle…recycle…cycle…

  • One of those stages where pieces of other works get recycled into new ones; don’t worry : it is just a phase [ orange, however, seems to be stuck ]
Always love your thoughts on things, Sir!

marvellous composition and an absolutely beautiful combination of colors, love most of all the circling shadows which wrap the sharp straight lines in the middle. ¿Does gen. in the title stand for “generation”?

  • Thank you, Maraia! Is there such a thing as “pure” abstract? Long trip from rather representational to here and I am enjoying every minute!
The “gen” originally referenced “genetically altered” : as in food. Now it is more “alternative generation,” a place where I don’t belong chronologically, but feel very comfortable….

There is something sort of “wayfaring” about this – pointing the way from June to January. Perhaps the cardboard will last longer than the product it once housed – bet you love your creation more than the purchase ;-) Engrossing as always, Margot. Thank you

  • Circles from paint test run on box of mocha frappuccino, which is obligatory and a staple food.
heh heh…yes, tip and tilt and it can be a boat, flying seed pods; please view from all angles, although it might be neck-twisting! Thank you, Rhoufi!

This is great! Love the composition with its perfect sense of repetition and balance –
along with fantastic colour choices and placement.
I’m reminded mainly of boats – with sort of bottle circle waves, mast and sails.
(The generations must be running around on the other side of the deck)

  • Colors of “The Cottage!” subconsciously applied! It did not start vertical… following the Georgia O’Keeffe theory that a “good” work should be pleasing even if viewed upside down. “Boats” : signify travel, mind or otherwise, no?
stop stop – you are making me think.

oh these textures make me itch!

  • Hope they make you “itch” as “itching to…” and don’t give you hives!
So happy to hear from you, Anthony!

    Really like this margot

  • I’m so glad you like, Donna! If I had more spare change I would get canvas, but am intrigued by the built-in texture of cardboard. :-)

Hi M – it makes me feel ships at sea – horizon and atmosphere – never pure abstracts for me – I always see/feel something in your work

  • What a wonderful comment, Karen! I guess our unconscious always wants to “say something” and Pure Abstract would need to be created by machine. oh, wait – it is already possible! ;-)
