sort of dressing & undressing, one of my friends whilst at art collage had a good theory of this, she stated the history of art is someone taking your clothes off and another person putting them back on again :) cool work mmargot

  • Yes, I can understand that : fascinating concept. Thank you much, Andrew!

Much like Sylvia Plath’s life: disparate pieces, tenuously and temporarily held together, that ultimately fell apart. Extraordinary work of art mmargot.

  • It feels that way sometimes : the “tenuously…held together.”
Thank you for the awesome words, Helen!

I like how the face is void as though to symbolize how no figure will remain. Lovely work margot.

  • I thought of a face, Mui-Ling, but in the end decided to leave it without emotion … for the imagination.
Thank you always for your fine insights!

This is lovely mmargot… so wonderful, like a breath of fresh air coming out of a spring bottle…lol :)

  • Thank you, Kathy!
Now that “Curiosity” is on Mars, Sejourner seems so timely… exciting stuff!

If only Slyvia Plath had taken up dress-making…..
I actually see a face beside the brown paper where the ‘eye’ is – followed by a nose underneath.
    - Very quirky, I like it – I like it a lot!

  • o! At the bottom, yes… sharp eye, you!
I love these “play it as it lies” things. The “Is it Art?” is actually more popular. I guess new tricks always are. So glad you like, shallay!

I couldn’t resist having a bit of a read and found this curious sentence (if my eyes are good enough):
“Women who are long or short-waisted should keep that fact in mind in cutting the outer portion of their waists…”
Hmmmm… seems an extreme way to lose weight!
As usual you have left something for us to muse over, you can’t really expect to visit one of your pages and expect to get away quickly – rewarding work is required.
I’m disturbed to see the pattern has been used for target practice!

  • ha ha! Yes, this is a clip from an early 20tth Century woman’s magazine. Lots of sewing tips; I can’t think what the holes are for, but then I don’t sew. So much detail in tailoring…
Appreciate that you find the sometimes silly or even profound little things that must come from the unconscious and are only noticed or make sense later on. Was not going to include the print, but the shape was so nice…. ;)

I came to see this before, but felt I had not the time to properly look and see (rushing off to work or somesuch) I am back! I find this especially intriguing. Love it!

  • Thank you for “coming back” to look! It seems we are both pleased by the bright and uncomplicated things… [ and that is a compliment, m’dear! ]
