State Theater HDR 2

2nd HDR photo of the State Theater in Plant City, Florida.

This is the historical State Theater in Plant City, Florida. According to one of the locals, it was built in 1939. It was used a theater until the early 60’s, at the moment it’s an empty building waiting for a new tenant (would be a cool place to have a gallery). It’s previous owner used it as an Emporium.

7 Exposures, processed in Photomatix and sharpened in CS3.

State Theater HDR 2 belongs to the following groups:

It is really too bad someone isnt using that great building. I live in a historic disctrict so there are lots of building that have been restored and being utilized… it really adds to the nostalgia and history of an area to keep this type of thing alive!

  • MKWhite replied

We’re lucky it’s still standing. History for whatever reason is something that the Tampa area just doesn’t seem interested in.

Thanks, PPV :) I would love to take some shots of the building dead on but there’s always a large truck or something blocking my angle, so I end up with thie side views instead.
