Martin Kirkwood was born in London, England in 1969 and still resides in southern England today. Although a self taught artists his works hang in private collections in Canada, USA, Singapore, Finland as well as throughout the United Kingdom.

Thanks. I used to be a member of a local art group on the south coast of England and was stunned by all the picture postcard images of our quaint little town in the summer.
The little seaside town only ever looks like a chocolate box for about 2 weeks a year. I submitted this to their annual exhibition and they hated it.
I got soaked trying to paint this. I gave up with an easel and canvas as the wind blew it to somewhere in Scandinavia, so took a quick photo instead and legged it back to my studio with wet feet before the next wave came crashing in.

Im glad you wrote that Martin it makes it even more special,I think the story of it goes really well.Its one of those timelrss pieces that you just know thw work that must of gone into it.You have described the history of it so well Im chortling here:)Sorry you got wet but you made a fine job and they must be nuts.:)Sorry to waffle.
