Drawing Anna

A digital collage involving two photographs and a pastel/pencil drawing.

The easel and hand are separate photographs but the drawing is a scanned image of the still unfinished original

It was all put together using Paintshop Pro and Photoshop. Great software.

I started with a photograph of my easel with a blank piece of paper attached to a panel with a bulldog clip. I then scanned my unfinished drawing and added it at as new layer, carefully aligning and skewing it to align with the paper on the photograph. It took some very careful work with an eraser tool so the bulldog clip wasn’t obscured and then I applied a very subtle drop shadow just to give it a tiny lift from the photographed easel and panel..

Then I added a new layer comprising a photograph of my hand after selecting and carefully removing the background from it.

My arm is deliberately cut off at the bottom of the drawing using an eraser tool to appear as part of the drawing being created.

A little surreal I know.
