I caught this porcupine climbing down from the tree where it apparently spent the night.  Just glad it was me who “caught” it and not my 2 goldens! Photographed in beautifully rural Sullivan County, PA.

Fantastic shot wonderful light and glorious porcupine hugs xxx

  • Thanks Hilary, I had to hike through some tall brush to get this shot. Just glad it was too scared to come after me! I usually see them at dusk waddling across the road but this morning I was up and out to catch the morning critters.

This is soooo precious. Great capture!

  • Thanks Judi, I know it wouldn’t be precious if it got those quills in me.
I’ve had dogs that did get too close so now they wear calf bells. It sounds like Christmas at my house all year ’round. ps. It also warns the skunks (so far!)

  • Thanks! I wasn’t out to capture it but the birds wouldn’t sit still long enough for me this morning!
