I've go to toot my own horn
I received notice today that the landscape version of my photograph “Sullivan Falls” was selected for the month of June 2009 for a calendar. There were nearly 3500 photos submitted for the 6th annual contest held by a financial instutition in our area.
This is the 6th photo of mine they have selected. My first photo ever published was through this contest in the year 2004. Out of the 6 wins, 2 were selected for the cover( grand prize). One of those years I not only won grand prize but also the month of July. My pride became greatest last year ( although the publication is for the 2008 calendar) I won the cover and my 13 yr. old son had his turkey photo selected for the month of Nov. I hold the record for the most total wins, most covers (2)and the only Mother & Son winners.
The calendar is quite popular each year and I’ve been come somewhat of a celebrity as a result. Each year the competition becomes harder so I need to also give credit to other photogs who have given me advice…....you know who you are!

Thanks Nancy,
I’m not usually this giddy over a “sale” but I think it has to do with the price of gas here in the US.. My winning will get me about 2 tanks full! LOL

Sorry, didn’t mean to bust your bubble so to speak. The press release isn’t out yet but the lady in the marketing dept gave me permission to crow early!

There was a saying when I was in the miiltary, “If you have to blow your own horn, blow it loudly.” Blow it loudly, Molly. You deserve it.
