Journal entry No.04/20. Near the Island Center.

I am beaten; I am battered by this terrain. I see a light of distant fires, but cannot reach the flame. Perhaps, like the moth landing on my lantern; in one fine and final moment, I will disappear into that light.

I have, for many years, used trompe l’oeil oil paintings to create the illusion of reality, and now use collage and digital composite photographs to create the same effect. The impossible is possible in our minds.
