I have, for many years, used trompe l’oeil oil paintings to create the illusion of reality and now use collage to create the same effect. Most of the envelopes, cigarette cards, postcards, maps, and photographs that appear in my assemblage art were fabricated to appear as authentic artifacts.
The color strips and collage papers are mostly Somerset Velvet and vintage (1949) Whatman papers stained with Prismacolor Markers.
