I have, for many years, used trompe l’oeil oil paintings to create the illusion of reality, and now use collage and digital composite photographs to create the same effect. Most of the envelopes, cigarette cards, postcards, maps, and photographs that appear in my assemblage art were fabricated digitally, and then printed on heavy stock to appear as authentic artifacts. These artifacts are assembled as three-dimensional collage pieces using Somerset Velvet and vintage (1949) Whatman papers stained with Prismacolor Markers
