OCTO-MAN was one of the most famous and enduring acts at Cremintins Amusement Park. It was developed by master stage magician Howard Munstan and ran from 1958 to 1981.
The act involved customers entering a darken room in which a large tank of water had been placed. As the lights were slowly brightened, one could see in the tank a creature with the body of an octopus and the head of a man. A microphone was then lowered into the tank and the Octo-Man seemingly spoke to the customers and pointed towards them with his tentacles
The act was retired when Howard retired in 1981. The multi-talented Howard also filled in on occasion as Mandrake the Mystic, Cremintins’ in house Mind-Reader.
