Nice one…I finally got three or four but I worked for them…What time was this one?
This one was from 8.19.09….Last night really pissed me off, I shot for well over an hour and didn’t land one strike. Hell, I didn’t see but one strike total….and that one was well out of my frame…..Frustrating
Nice, like that structure left of strike.
Thanks Drec! The Structure on the left is the Arcus Cloud or Shelf Cloud as it commonly referred to. The Strike is emanating from Anvil and right in front of the rotating mid levels.
Awesome! Love the colours, the darkness and the foreboding shelf cloud. I’ll say it again, awesome.
LoL!! Thanks Merrilyn!
BANG!!!!!!!!! i dream of storms like this, and catch a positive CG coming the tops…beautiful! Well done mate! What length was this taken at?
Much thanks Rikki! This was at 28 mm. As wide as my lens will go.
I’ve got a lot to learn. You’re a hard act to follow…

His name is Mike Hollingshead….Probably one of the worlds Most famous Storm Photographers. In the American Storm Chasing world, his work is considered the Standard by which all storm photography is compared. You simply must check out his SuperCell photos!!! AMAZING WORK!!
Thank you Antanas!
I saw about 10 CG’s , caught tree of them. Was doing timed exposures, just tripping the shutter…The last two nites have been teasers….
I remember this guy who uses Hasselbad Cameras chasing, would be nice. Had a short storm the other day, season’s yet to start.
Awesome capture Jeremy. The clouds are amazing and terrific shot of the lightning bolt.
