This homeless lady comes every morning and sits at my gate. I think she’s around 90 years old. I say hi and she gives me the biggest smile that shows her few teeth. She doesn’t understand english, and seems to struggle speaking at all. This drawing was done it (smoke) from an oil lantern then applied by brush to the paper.

Gorgeous drawing! Fascinating technique, and in a way a very ancient one, but certainly unusual these days.

  • Thanks. I found a Mr Miyagi; he’s a brilliant art teacher (Mr Ky) inQuang Ngai City, Vietnam and is introducing this amazing medium to me, I look forward to mastering it.
