Muse

Muse by mistertrooth

Muse

A pen and ink drawing that I did in 2001. It burst out of me in one sitting, without any pencil sketching first, and has remained a personal favourite. I revisited it a couple of years ago in photoshop, cleaned him up a bit, and coloured him. I believe he is my ‘guide’, the protector of my creative energy.

Muse belongs to the following groups:

Art and Stories Made For Children, Art Inspired by Dreams, Atheism, Character Development, Cute-n-Creepy, New Zealand Made, Spiritual Art and Symbolism in Art

Thanx soxy – i have to admit I’ve been picking up the pen less often these days, in favour of the mouse – but i think you can see a certain similarity between the ink characters and the digital ones. For example, i think ‘muse’ and ‘fairy’ are cousins…..

That’s the plan … i just need a scanner and one of those tablet thingys that allow you to draw straight onto the computer, then I can combine drawings with photoshop techniques …. you’ll see some crazy shit then!!

nice cartooning, it’s also where I first started although I am yet to post any of it on RB and like you, I tend to go for the mouse these days…one thing I’d like to try is digital painting from a ‘paper’ sketch…one of these days..

You write: “It burst out of me in one sitting, without any pencil sketching first”. That’s how I do all my art actually (hardly ever in one sitting, though – besides the basics). I like it. I like a lot of your work… :-)

yeah it’s a satisfying way to work, but i also enjoy ‘laying the foundations’ so to speak – depends what I’m trying to achieve.
