Exactly Matt my very words a few days ago. Why cant people grow up and realise there country is no better than any other. Fantastic. :)

  • Matt Roberts replied

Really. Exact words? Did I comment on it? Because I’ve always thought that but I know that something on here inspired me to put it up on here… thanks for your comment.

it’s not a country people should be loyal to…
    it’s other people
    patriotism = brainwashing
which is easier to see if you live outside of the radar. ;-)

  • Matt Roberts replied

Whoa! Didn’t think that so many people would agree with me :p

  • JenniferB

    JenniferB

Hmmmmm good debate matt, well i have to agree with reflexio, religion has caused more wars than anything else since time, no, since religion began….Followed very very very close by GREED, greed is the greatest killer to walk the planet…..It manifests in such small ways in all of us, cutting up another driver, buying a two for on offer right up to stomping across country borders…..Hmmm Patriotism in the extreme maybe but also maybe not as it is mainly kept within its borders context….Tis the love of your own people your own soil in a tiny tiny tiny corner of a big bad world, Patriarch, head of family a patriot a loyal servant of the family.. Anyhow, all this coming from a man whose group are called ‘Welsh’ artists or is that anarchists lol, whose rules on joining state you must be of welsh origin…...I am proud to be welsh and of the place i am from and of the people who raised and educated me….I am not of greed or religion, but if by declaring i am welsh makes me a war monger…...tis a sad day.

  • Matt Roberts replied

My creation of Welsh Artists has nothing to do with patriotism. I just wanted to create a group for people who are from the same place as me, simply to meet them as I thought it would be interesting. I agree, religion causes war. I would have made the topic of this piece religion if I were in the mood to offend, but I am not. Many things cause wars, patriotism is just one of them.

i met a welsh man once, he was as mad as a fucking hatter! hahaha!

  • Matt Roberts replied

    Wasn’t me was it? :p

  • lawrie .

    lawrie .

And i think it is a good thing you do, and i am so pleased that you invited me to join such a wonderful group…...the use of ‘welsh’ seperates and thus forms its attachment to country, patriotism…....I would never wish to start a fight with someone because they said wales was shite ( and in rugby over the years there may of been times, lol) but if our way of life or liberty was under threat i would stand and be counted….Nothing wrong in being proud of your roots, i have moore problem in owning up that i am a human being than saying i’m welsh…..man is the most destructive creature on this planet….....Humans cause war !!!!! How do we get out of that one ?

  • Matt Roberts replied

Humans do cause war… especially religion or patriotic ones.

You are quite right. I am Russian but over 30 years I live out of that country. Unfortunately watching TV-news and political talk shows from Moscow I see hysteria of patriotism. The main ideas are we are the best, the most talented but all the world hates us. We are in circle of enimies which are greaming to control our resures.
That’s why we must be patriots and become stronger, stronger…
I am very disappointed with that.

  • Matt Roberts replied

Everyone likes to think that they are the best and that is the problem (well, one of many). Thanks for your comment :)

Patriotism, religion, pride (often seen by many as good things), plus greed, stupidity, fear, racism etc etc… they’ve all been present in the mix.

  • Matt Roberts replied

True, and two of those are actually considered sins.

along with a few idiots that take high places and then give themself a fat bonas instead of buying the much needed equipment that these idiots send true men and women that one day will realise what was it all for so big fat idiots get fatter and richer and the boys and girls that go to war DIE !!!!

  • Matt Roberts replied

    Thanks for your comment…

I agree with the people comments. People cause wars… Like you said, usually patriotic, religious ones … but always humans. Every time, literally.

  • Matt Roberts replied

Well you hardly see a monkey and a giraffe fighting over resources or because they don’t believe in the same stuff so I’m inclined to agree with you.
