Tommy and His Friend
Last night I was retelling my girlfriend, Sophie about how my late cat Tommy was such a… well, my mother used to refer to him as a wimp, but I prefer the term ‘softy’, that, after being banished to live outside in the garden (because my mother was sick of cleaning up after him), he would have his food on the back door step and one day was discovered to be sharing his cat food (biscuits) with another creature – a hedgehog.
I believe the two of them ‘hung out’ more than once, but unfortunately I never witnessed this :( and it’s something I’ll always regret not getting a photograph of – it would have been priceless :p

I love it when animals ‘get on’ with other animals, especially when they’re not supposed to. I guess it shows that Tommy was a cut above your average backstreet bruiser socially and intellectually.

Indeed. Another one of his best moments was when he cut the nose of the dog nextdoor. He made me proud that day :) Thanks for your comment.
