Sorry if it bugs you that I capitalized all my letters in the title…but I really need help!!
Out of nowhere I am unable to save any image as a JPEG in photoshop. I have uninstalled and reinstalled it….any suggestions?? THANKS!!
oh, another problem I am having is when I am making a collage and drag the picture onto the canvas I get the warning “the targe document has adifferent depth than the source document. This may result in a lower than excpected quality. Are you sure you want to proceed?”
Seriously, going out of my mind here!

Hi Melissa,
as far as not being able to save an image in a JPEG format… i have no idea what thats about, but if its an image you need to really save, there are other formats you can save it in, at least temporarily – TIFF, PSD, PNG, etc….
as far as the collage warning you keep getting… i think when that warning refers to “a different depth” they might be talking about how you’re mixing 8 bit and 16 bit images together. you’ll see this on the title of your work file in photoshop when you open up a picture – for example – P1010580.jpg @ 8.33% (RGB/8*)
The number that comes after RGB is how many bits per channel your image has. When you mix two images together in a collage, they might not have the same bits, so that might be why you’re getting that warning. If you need to change the bit mode for an image, just go to the Image menu in Photoshop, then select Mode, and then select however many bits per channel is appropriate to the collage you’re making.
Image – Mode – 8 Bits/ Channel (or 16 OR 32 Bits/ Channel, depending on whichever one you want to have as the constant)
I hope this helps!

Hi Melissa,
I think Dan hit the nail on the head… the reason you can’t save JPEG’s is because your image is 16 or 32 bit… you cannot save a 16 or 32 bit image as JPEG!... you must first convert it to an 8bit RGB mode before you save it as JPEG Go to Image->Mode->8 bits you should find that when you go to the Save As dialog JPEG will now be an option.

missmunchy – you might try looking in the community forums next time you need help – or posting there – you might get responses faster. (but it seems everyone leapt to your aid pretty quick anyway :)
