This spider was lying in wait inside the flower of a foxglove with the ‘tug’ wire of his web held in his grasp so the minute it was pulled he could spring into action

Shot taken with a Canon D30 and Canon 38-76mm lens fitted with a generic 10x macro lens

I don’t like spiders one little bit (I know, they have their place in this world, but . . . ) but this ia very pretty one, Chris. It matches the flower perfectly. Nice image.

  • This one doesn’t spin a web – it hides inside the flowers of foxgloves and as you said – its camouflage is brilliant. I know you don’t like spiders but did you see the shot of this one catching a bee ?

Phenominal! This is just stunning… the flower looks like foxglove… do you happen to remember or know what kind of flower this lovely Spider was knitting in? I would love to feature this at www.allourrelations.gather.com

    :o) wishing you laughter

  • Thank you for your lovely comment and the fave. Yes, it was in a foxglove – the spiders camouflage worked perfectly with the flower. I’d be deighted to see it featured in www.allourrelations.gather.com
