Kissing the Blarney Stone by

I didn’t take this shot – that’s me hanging upside down – way back in 1975

The original shot was given high key treatment then finished in porcelain.

I love the texture and the age of this shot….pretty cool:)

  • It’s a pretty old shot to start with – such a long time ago

And don’t tell me? You’ve not stopped talking since:-) LOL Excellent Chris. Is that a tank-top you were wearing?

  • Lol – my husband would agree with you there. No, it’s not a tank top but I agree it does look like one. It was a short sleeved cardigan.

Great shot Chris, I thought I’d broken my Back when I tried it, never did get to Kiss it though LOL
  • Lol. I wondered after if I’d done the right thing – after all, who knows who had kissed it before me? It was probably covered in all kinds of germs. I survived though with no ill effects. I don’t think it’s allowed now – a health and safety issue.

Cool… I wish I still had the photos from when I was there, sadly the film was re-used (not by me) and I lost all the shots… maybe I should return some day, I loved the grounds of the castle :-)

Nice shot by the way :-)

BTW they let us kiss it in 98 I think it was… I think they must have disinfected it or something between people.. you know what it’s silly if they say that, as no-one fell through the gap or (as far as I know) contracted anything nasty from it :-P

  • Now that’s interesting – I thought it had been stopped completely. It’s such a shame that you lost your photos – I’d be devastated. But – maybe it’s a way of telling you to go back?

that is really a neat photo! did everyone have to kiss the stone upside down?

  • Yes – you had to lean a long way down, backwards, to kiss the stone – it was a bit scary
