    GREAT shot

  • Thanks Tony – it was a really eerie experience. When the total eclipse occurred everything went silent, the streetlights came on and the owls started hooting – spooky stuff.

    Eerie! Great work!

  • It was – very, but a great experience. Unfortunately it was so cloudy that when the total eclipse occurred we couldn’t see it. Shame because I would have loved to have got a shot of that. Everywhere just went totally black!

Oh…so jealous you saw the whole thing! I watched from the coastline in Wales. we had a partial eclipse, it went pretty dark, and the sea turned an almost silver colour. Everyone was lined up along the sea-front, silence fell upon hundreds of us…that was spooky enough…i would have LOVED to have seen the full thing from Devon. I love this shot…you’ve captured something priceless and timeless

  • Thank you so much – it’s an amazing experience isn’t it?

  • I’ve just seen that you made this image a favourite – thank you very much :O) I used my 35mm slr with a 250mm zoom lens attached to 2 2x teleconverters and a special solar lens. It was very heavy and difficult to stabilise – even mounted on a tripod so it was quite a difficult shot to get but well worth the effort.
