shades the gripping bands
on your wrists and ankles
as the ruddy glow caresses
and licks your skin,
now illuminating a mound,
now masking in shadow,
heights and crevices
and secret places.

Your bound figure
in the dancing light and shaping shadow
waits my touch, my fire,
my flicker, my exploration
of the mystery
of you.

In expectant silence,
you submit from strength not weakness,
from desire not need…
