Bar [4-5-2010]

The Jolly Roger sat in the middle of the swamp, the ancient wood and nails barely holding itself together, the whole ramshackle building sinking slowly into the muck with each passing year. A wooden sign hung above the door rocking on its hinges in the wind; its paint black and peeling; the skull and crossbones barely visible on the wood-grain. The night was warm and humid, the darkness swallowing up the noise of the moving creatures in the trees surrounding the bar, and the flickering lanterns from the windows were the only light for miles.
