I started learning about photography in my early 20’s when was fortunate enough to land a job as a real estate writer with a large South West newspaper. This whet my appetite for print journalism as well as film photography.
As well as real estate photos, I was also given assignments for social photos, new babies and also managed to land a front page cover photo!
My passion and love for photography developed when we moved to the West Kimberley region of W.A.
By this stage I owned a simple Nikon Coolpix 5.1 megapixel camera.
Wet season storms in the region are spectacular and I started to try and capture lightning photos, which started to prove difficult when I could not leave the shutter open with the camera.
I did manage to capture a couple of awesome photos which ended up being luck more than skill!
This spurred me on to purchase a more capable camera and I bought a Canon EOS 400D digital SLR, and have never looked back – the rest is history!
I particularly enjoy taking photos of landscape, wildlife – in particular, birds and weather events.
I tend to be a lazy photographer with most of my photos being a case of ‘what you see is what you get’! And my photos are rarely digitally enhanced.
I hope you enjoy my photos as much as I have enjoyed capturing them!
