Where is the Fruit of Faith?

Where is the Fruit of Our Faith?

we worship so many gods
we’ve tucked so many idols
into the intimate places
of our hearts
instead of tearing them down
we leave them,
and add Jesus to them,

Do we worship the Lord of the bible?
or Praise everything else under the sun?

we strain a gnat and swallow a camel

shutting our dead hearts
pushing carts,
and sleeping in cardboard boxes
and tents,
but we worship our money
and ourselves with it,
we worship convenience,
and celebrate our grace
worshiping technology,
plugging contraptions into
the black holes in our hearts,
drinking black waters
bitter and tart,
walking around with
cold machinery
talking all of the time,
into inanimate things,
into lifeless and slaughtered
a culture of death
we sacrifice our hearts

we don’t hear God,
we can’t hear His Voice

we are too busy worshiping
cell phones,
and laptops,
upgrading to the next
and newest thing

with our lips
we say,

“We Love God”

we worship death
we worship the violence
in our hearts,
we say,

“We Love God,
and We Love His Creation.”

daily thousands of unborn
are butchered,
and with the meat
of their flesh still
upon our lips

We say, “We Love Jesus"

but we have no interest
in the Cross of Glory,
we worship our bodies,
spending our lives
worshiping the sculpting
of decaying rotting
that is
spend thousands,
on worthless fountains
we have abandoned
the Living Waters,
for worthless fountains
that spew filth

with blind eyes,
deceived hearts
twisted logic
we walk into buildings
where God does not live
sing a few songs
maybe lift up our hands
towards the high ceilings

we worship a life
soon to join the dust
of the earth
we worship a temporal
we worship religion
and ritual,
believing that to be the Heart
of the Almighty

our broken bodies,
our sins,
on altars of flesh,
but not God
not He who parted the Red Seas
and crossed the Israelites through
the dried ocean floor.

“These peope draw near to Me with their
And honor me with their lips,
But their heart is far from Me.
And in vain they worship Me,
Teaching as doctrines the commandments
of men.”
(Matthew 15:8-9)

For My people have committed two evils:
“They have forsaken Me, the fountain of
Living Waters,
And hewn for themselves cisterns-broken
cisterns that can hold no water.”
