i attach myself to You Jesus

i attach myself to You Jesus
to that Voice of my yearnings
to the echo of my suffering
and insignificant sobs
others dismissed
You pulled me into
the wonders of Your Majesty
beckoned me to follow You
though i was naked
i had not a rag to cover
the shame of my flesh
immersed in ice
You searched for me
found me
clothed me
bejeweled me
Gave me the Gift of Your Heart
The Agappe Love i could not repay
i swoon
i attach myself to You Jesus
Heir of the Universe Eternal Heart of Glory
hold me steady in the veins of Your dreams
keep me as the affection You set Your Gaze Upon
mesmerized me
i found acceptance in the glowing stars
of Your smile

i attach myself to You Jesus
to the boughs of Your
trees living breathing Your Praise
i attach myself to the rivers
of Your Grace that flow sweetly
from Your Throne
i attach myself to the sparrows so dependent
You forget not One
and i attach myself to Your Lightenings
and thunderings
to feel the Power
of Your Godhead
i attach myself to the tiniest insect
knowing Your Divine Hand is in
everything large and small

i attach myself to You Jesus
the mountains to shelter myself inside You
i call myself hollow without You
“Fill me with Your Holy Ghost”
i call myself a curse Without You
in the shadow of this world beleagured by demons
i call myself a beggar in need
of Your Unspeakable Riches
i call myself broken pottery
scratch out my clay existence
in You

i chase Your footprints into the wilderness
to eat the manna of my salvation
i throw my body as dead weight into raging seas
that You may save me

i attach myself to You Jesus
to Your Righteous Robes
in hopes that i may kiss them as they sweep the earth
i call myself servant
i ascribe Glory to You
i attach my stigma to You
the volanic ash of my mood swings
the mad unreasonings
of my racing thoughts
switching on and off
i speak tirelessly at You
you thread my words into a pearl necklace
You see the litany of my flesh pressed against Your Soul
You carry the words of rejection wore them upon Your Flesh
you have blessed the torn unions
closed me with the sutres of Faith
the lies the world spins
the dominions of spiders and their venom

Lord, You have whispered Truth
i attach myself to You Jesus
i have attached myself too quickly to men
the brevity of love a pyre of ashes
i attached myself so awkwardly
men called me strange
reproached me for my ways
slapped my hands off them
i attached myself too hard
clawing them,
accused of being possessive
men brushed me off as lint
left me limp as a scarecrow
but not You, You attached Love
to me,
You lifted me up, called me Jewel
i rested against Your Breastplate of Fire
You burned Holiness into me
i attach myself to Feet Burning
with Holy Glory
when others had kicked me off
to nothing but bruises.
You slip me into Your Palms
engraving me.
i attach myself to You
Because You First Attached Yourself To me.

Artist's Description

“I am the Rose of Sharon,
And the Lily of the Valleys,
Like a lily among thorns,
So is my love among the daughter.
Like an apple tree among the trees of the woods,
So is my Beloved among the sons,
I sat down in His Shade with great delight,
And His Fruit was sweet to my taste.
He brought me to the banqueting house,
And His Banner over me was love,
Sustain me with cakes of raisins,
Refresh me with apples,
For I am lovesick.
(Song of Soloman 2:15)

“My Beloved spoke, and said to me:
Rise up, my love, my fair one,
And come away.
For lo, the winter is past,
The rain is over and gone.
The flowers appear on the earth;
The time of singing has come,
And the voice of the turtledove
Is heard in our land.
The fig tree puts forth her green figs,
And the vines with the tender grapes
Give a good smell.
Rise up, my love, my fair one,
And come away!
O’ my Dove, in the cleft of the rock,
In the secret places of the cliff,
Let me see your face,
Let me hear your voice,
For your voice is sweet,
And your face is lovely.”
(Song of Soloman 3:10-13)
