Lord Heal the Legacy of Auschwitz

Lord, Heal the Legacy of Auschwitz
If Your Blood had been over
those iron gates
would such evil have occured?
I see the striped pajamas of infamy
that collects spider webs
why have we tried to push
it from our consciousness?

Lord, Heal the Legacy of Auschwitz
my diverse introspections
muddies the truth
when all I want is justice
for them,
for Anne Frank,
I cling to their suffering
still,
the razors of that ignoble
fence,
forces the taste
of genocide
into our mouths

Lord, Heal the Legacy of Auschwitz,
When Your Israel,
was hunted down by
demon packs,
I am reminded
of the squeeling pigs
running over the cliff,
legion came back
to finish the job

Lord, Heal the Legacy of Auschwitz,
when satan distorts it still
denying that it happened
and fools believe him
the descendants of Abraham
and Isaac and Jacob,
the dead bones of millions
I wonder if Ezekiel saw
this vision of hell

Lord, Heal the Legacy of Auschwitz
reveal the secrets we’ve discarded
of individuals, not mass
graves, of smiles, and laughs
words they spoke,
prayers they wept
I wonder if they were
answered?
when satan created
crematoriums
to incinerate
Judah,
and remnants
of Israel,
the revenge
he planned
when they escaped
from Egypt

Lord, Heal the Legacy of Auschwitz,
it’s survivors that slipped
away from life,
I wonder how long they
saw the ghost trains?
the nightmares
they surrendered to
their fingers and hands
of vibrancy and beauty
reduced to breathing
through bars
their last freedom
dignity ripped open
as a scab on humanity

Lord, Heal the Legacy of Auschwitz,
where animals wore uniforms
and the stinch of their rule
made the air putrid,
polluting basic decency
Why didn’t more people
stand up for the Jews?
Where was the Church?
The Christians?
Were there more
goats than lambs?

Lord, Heal the Legacy of Auschwitz,
AUSCHWITZ that seems to have no voice
AUSCHWITZ that seems to have received no justice
AUSCHWITZ that appears to have no face
but ours,
can the lie be so deep?
when the devil says You Forsook Judah
But, no, there was a greater purpose
a heart of wealth in all of this
When Paul wrote that Israel
would return
the Root of David
Vengeance belongs to God
The Lion of Judah
We cannot heal the destruction
the breach of history
when the enemy sought
to rip the fabric of it
We have a Saviour
Whose Name is Jesus
He will claim the Victory
for Israel
He will fly His Banner
of Love over them

“It is He that will heal the legacy of Auschwitz.”

Lord Heal the Legacy of Auschwitz by

“And He has exalted the horn of His people,
The praise of all His saints-
Of the children of Israel,
A people near to Him.

Praise the Lord!
(Psalm 148:14)

I have never forgotten those who were murdered in the Holocaust. I won’t say died because they wouldn’t have died if they were not brutally tortured, shot, incinerated, starved, and butchered. Only the Lord can Heal such an evil legacy. Only His Love will heal such an ugly legacy given to all humanity.

AN AMAZING PRAYER FOR HEALING MATTY!! THE LEGACY OF AUSCHWITIZ IS A TERRIBLE INDICTMENT ON THE POTENTIAL FOR EVIL IN THE HUMAN RACE!!!

  • Yes, Auschwitz is one of the worst evils in the history of the world. But there have been so many other genocides. Only the Lord Jesus can heal all the terrible infamies of history. The slave trade, Bosnia, Rwanda, the Native populations around the world, to name a few. Only through prayer and healing and love can humanity begin to heal. Thank-you so much for commenting on this piece raymondo. This piece means alot to me. The Holocaust has always haunted me. May God bless you. TO GOD BE ALL GLORY!!!! your friend, In-Christ matty

We must never forget the horrible tragedy of what Hitler and his minions did to all those people. If we forget then we are doomed to let history repeat itself. Thank you for pouring this out of your heart, as hard as it was to read it is quite beautiful in it’s own rite. I am a relative of the Frank family, so this piece really rings true with me. After reading her diary in my school days and reading it again in my adult life, I don’t think that I can ever let the haunting thoughts eacapse me. I have forgiven Hitler (as hard as that was to do), because our Lord Jesus has forgiven us…. God bless – Julie

  • Thank-you for your comment solareclips-Ju…. I cannot forget the grievous sins committed against the Jewish people. Although I am not Jewish, the Holocaust has always been apart of my life, it has been tattooed on me as well, as Israel are God’s Chosen Nation. I support the state of Israel. I know there are forces still at work to destroy Israel. My heart is with those victims and the children, and grandchildren of the victims and survivors of the concentration camps. Yes, we must forgive those who perpetrated the crimes, and those who continue to deny the Holocaust. That is why we must always remember Auschwitz, but only the Lord can heal it’s legacy. I love Jesus too! Only He can transform the deepest wounds. God bless you my sister. TO OUR JESUS CHRIST BE ALL PRAISE AND GLORY!!! In-Christ matty
I also wanted to write that Anne Frank is a heroine in the truest sense of the word. I read that book, and even though I’ve been told she was Jewish by race, I see Christ in her words. The forgiveness of Jesus that would see good in her perpetrators. In my heart I believe she was saved. What a legacy your family has. I’m sorry that your family has suffered such tragedy. But at the same time her spirit triumphed over the evil done to her and her family. I believe hers was the triumph of the Holy Spirit. In-Christ matty

You are right, Matty! The Holocaust is certainly the most recent tragedy to befall the Jewish people, but we only have to read the Book of Esther to realize that they narrowly escaped another which would have meant their total destruction, had God not delivered them through the instrumentality of Esther. God promised Abraham that he would never allow his seed to be destroyed and this promise was passed down through Isaac and Jacob and on to the Twelve Tribes of Israel. Though dreadful things have happened to them throughout the course of human history, God has not forgotten his promise. We should bear in mind, however, that it meant the people as a whole, not individuals.

We read in the first chapter of the Book of Zechariah:-

“12 ¶Then the angel of the Lord answered and said, O Lord of hosts, how long wilt thou not have mercy on Jerusalem and on the cities of Judah, against which thou hast had indignation these threescore and ten years? 13 And the Lord answered the angel that talked with me with good words and comfortable words. 14 So the angel that communed with me said unto me, Cry thou, saying, Thus saith the Lord of hosts; I am jealous for Jerusalem and for Zion with a great jealousy. 15 And I am very sore displeased with the heathen that are at ease: for I was but a little displeased, and they helped forward the affliction. 16 Therefore thus saith the Lord; I am returned to Jerusalem with mercies: my house shall be built in it, saith the Lord of hosts, and a line shall be stretched forth upon Jerusalem. 17 Cry yet, saying, Thus saith the Lord of hosts; My cities through prosperity shall yet be spread abroad; and the Lord shall yet comfort Zion, and shall yet choose Jerusalem.”

This proves that God will never forsake his Chosen People, but is gathering them together from the four quarters of the earth and they will eventually be enabled to rebuilt his Holy Temple in Jerusalem.

The first Temple, built by Solomon, was a shining diadem. The next Temple, built on the return of the Jews from the Babylonian Captivity, was not made of so many fine materials, but was just as holy. It was built against great opposition, so much so that those who worked on it dared not leave their swords out of reach! However, they overcame that severe opposition and completed the Holy House. Now the time is fast approaching when they will be building another and the opposition is just as great, if not greater, but what God wills, He will bring to pass.

God said for the disobedience of His people, He would scatter them throughout the earth, and as horrible as this was, God raised Hitler to power for that time and He also destroyed him. As God also prophesied that He would gather His children back to Israel, this is happening right now!!! Jews from all nations are going home. His heart is for the people of Israel and His ultimate plan is to gather them to Himself as a hen gathers her chicks. They will one day kneel and confess that Christ is their Messiah, praise God!!! These acts in history are for His glory and our good, nothing gets past our God! This is a beautiful heart felt prayer that will one day be answered by our God. And those who deny that this happened will be cast into the lake of fire and utterly destroyed!
