The Growth of Paisley T-Shirt

Miriam Shilling

The Growth of Paisley

The paisley design originally came from simplified drawings of flowering plants. It is also believed to be the shape of a mango seed.
It is a beautiful organic design that I have loved for years.
My design was originally from a painting, showing the paisley designs origins in nature, that I did a few years ago.
In making it into a drawing for this t-shirt design I have attempted about 20 totally different designs and have been getting very frustrated with trying to resolve it.
Hope you like it , would love some feedback.

I have decided to ditch the background altogether.

    I love it! Great illustration.
If I can offer some constructive criticism, I would say that the background is not working too well. I think the illustration is beautiful and mainly because it is so organic and free flowing. The background, with its rectangular shape and perfectly rounded corners seems a little too rigid in comparison.

Thanks for the feedback. Do you think I should get rid of the background altogether? AArgh! This drawing is driving me crazy!

This is much better now without the background. It’s form is now much more interesting!

Nice use of limited palette. I know where you are with the much-loved idea that you have to wrestle with – sometimes it seems like designs I am less emtionally attached to work more easily.
