So little one, shut the door tight
And open your window to the night.

Where midnight vines grow twisted twirls
And shy silver leaves choose to unfurl.

See lightening birds leap and prance
In the glow of lantern spiders’ swinging lamps.

Breathe deep the scent of mystery’s blooms
Whose petals are heavy with the moon.

Watch tailored frogs and lilies flirt
As the tarragon cat washes her skirt.

Listen to butterflies waltz and sing
Holding out your hand to flamenco wings

So little one, do what’s right
To protect and preserve this precious night.

Enchantment

I was thinking about ‘Gaia – The Living Planet’ & it conjured up a thought for me – the enchantment & fragility of nature…hopefully I’ve captured that here!
