(I’ll explain the title in the second “paragiraffe”)
I took this picture in Iberia Parish in southern Louisiana where roseate spoonbills are nesting alongside cattle egrets, little blue herons, snowy egrets, great egrets, and a variety of waterfowl. It’s a joy to see them busy about the business of propagating their species and keeping the world beautiful with their presence. I am particularly fond of the roseate spoonbills which are such a gorgeous color and of such large stature.
I added the Topaz Simplify filter to this image of a roseate spoonbill, affectionately called a Spoonish Biller-rina by my 2 year old great niece, Miriam. Anything “dressed in pink” is a Biller-Rina to her! I dedicate this image to Miriam and her wonderful vocabulary.
