I love Sanibel Island because it is one of the best shelling beaches in the nation and the world. My husband and I recently went there and I collected these shells from its shores. I could not find the coveted and rare Junonia (the large spotted shell), so I bought the one pictured here at an online auction to add to my collection. Some of the shells included in this image are the Florida fighting conch, the lightning whelk, the Atlantic fig snail, the banded tulip, angel wing, giant Atlantic cockle, and the murex.
