This roseate spoonbill in flight is a lovely flash of pink in the sky. I took this at Jefferson Island in Iberia Parish, Louisiana, at a very lively rookery. It was a joy to watch cattle egrets, great white egrets, ibis, little blue herons, and roseate spoonbills all busy in the nesting activities of the season.

Wonderful capture.
Continuing to work on your in-flight techniques, eh? Nice capture Bonnie!! The pink against the blue is very nice and I like how the light shows through the wings. That rookery sounds like a great place to get some nice shots.
Wow! These birds are such a lovely colour – we only see them in zoos – thank you for showing us how wondrous they look flying free! ;o) x
Love those Spoonbills ! I see them all the time on the flat at coconut in Fl. I have been tryin got get a great shot of them grooming but I only have a 300mm and I can’t seem to get any closer then 25 feet, I m guessing. I think they are getting use to me. One of these days I will get one as good as yours/
