Prayer . . . by Bonnie T. Barry

Small (23.2" x 15.5")

I’ve been experimenting with the concept of backgrounds and I’m trying to photograph various things in a blurred fashion to use expressly as backgrounds for cards. This is my first attempt. It’s kind of fun to look at a scene and see nothing but color possibilities without any of the details. This background is actually a bottlebrush plant in my garden.

The text came from a book I’m currently reading; it made an impression on me and I recorded it in my journal as a possibility for a card. Here’s the end product. I hope someone likes it.

prayer, life, god, union, spirit, time, spiritual, natural, lord, divine, connection, praying, occupation, kelly, almighty, savior, oneness, breathing, connectedness, prayerfulness, sustaining, breathings, receptiveness

Love this background idea. The colors are very pleasing and the saying very nice. Good job!

The background really compliments the eloquent verse. I use my backgrounds all the time for a basis for my paintings. There is something to be seen, in what is sometimes out of focus…yes?
