I thought I’d do the bluebird version of the “Golden Arches” and joined two images, one of the mother and one of the father, delivering “buggy burgers” to the little ones. Note my crude attempt at the double arches (not the best but it was fun trying). Bluebird babies, I’m happy to report, have graduated from the kiddie burger to the man-size monster loaded with calories and cholesterol.

    great shot, they look hungry…..:)

  • Thanks for the comment, Tim; hungry they might be, but the babies get it all. Mom and Dad hunt but the babies gobble up the goods!

  • I’m hoping to see the fledglings soon; I hear them but Mom and Dad are still keeping them hidden. I think I caught a glimpse of one yesterday, but only a fleeting one. Hopefully there will be photos of the little speckled wonders soon! Thanks for your kind support, Jesika; you are a true friend! I’m looking forward to seeing your little striped grebes soon!

Wow, you have so many great blue bird shots Bonnie, hard to imagine how you could do better, but this one has to be among the best!! Looks like your blue birds are being very cooperative again this spring. Excellent shot!!!!!

  • Thanks so much, John; I’m so blessed to be able to see these beautiful birds and to become their friend. You know, I think they know me; one year one actually came and peeked inside my blind! They are very tolerant of my presence and of my camera. Thanks for sharing the joy with me and for responding so enthusiastically. I appreciate your support. And thanks again for the great tip about the birdjam! Birthday’s April 30; I may see one if I’m a good girl!

Fantastic work Bonnie! Looks like the bugs are in plentiful supply this year too. Gorgeous composition

  • Carolyn, here in Louisiana, bugs are ALWAYS in plentiful supply. And the bluebirds love them! I’ve offered them treats from Wild Birds Unlimited, but they refuse it. They prefer their pickings fresh from the wilds! Thanks for taking the time to drop by and leave a kind word.
