top notch photography here! you rule Bonnie!!
Bonnie T. Barry replied
Thanks so much, John. These little wrens give me a run for my money; they flit about so hurriedly I have a hard time getting a shot.
John Absher
So, that’s a Carolina? ... excellent detail and colors. Nice capture Bonnie!
Bonnie T. Barry replied
Thanks, John; I appreciate the encouraging words. I have seen a house wren in the yard once or twice; the Carolinas are more prevalent here in the Deep South.
Cheryl Ridge
Excellent shot of a small bird, Bonnie. Looks like they have a rather long beak?
Bonnie T. Barry replied
Long beak and LOUD song! They may be tiny but they pack a lot of punch! Thanks for the comment, Cheryl!

Jan Piller
awwww – this is really sweet – what great timing! It’s like he’s asking himself.. “is it edible?”
Bonnie T. Barry replied
I think this was a bit of a peanut from the suet which the wren plucked from a suet log and then tackled on the ground below. He was tearing into it with gusto. Thanks for the comment, Jan; I appreciate it.
Noelene Davies
Gorgeous capture Bonnie.
Bonnie T. Barry replied
Thank you, Noelene, for your time and encouraging words.
Agnes McGuinness
Superb photo, Bonnie. Outstanding. We used to have a wren in the garden which started to sing very early in the morning. Beautiful sound. Agnes xx
Bonnie T. Barry replied
I agree, Agnes, the wren’s song is among the most resounding in the garden! Thanks for sharing your experience with these engaging little birds and thanks for the kind words about the photo.

She is sooooooo cute! I’m not sure I’ve ever seen one of our wrens in the UK! What a pretty little hairdo she has! I think she’s enjoying her meal! ;o)
Bonnie T. Barry replied
Cute is definitely a fitting description of the wren which is plucky and perky and full of vim and vigor. They never fail to make me smile. Thanks for the input, Krys, and I hope you get to see one of your own wrens soon!

Beautiful birdie, lovely shot, Bonnie
jx
Bonnie T. Barry replied
Thanks so much, Jesika! The wren is tiny in body but big in character and song; years ago one of them kept singing loudly at my back door. I knew there was something amiss and checked on things. Sure enough, some undesirable critter (may have been a snake) was near the wren’s nest in one of my ferns. I think she was holllering for help! I love these little birds so much!

Eric just emailed me and told me she reminded him of Bertha C, another of their favorites to impersonate! What a nut! But you know he has a point; there is a strange resemblance!
