Butterfly on Phlox
If a butterfly can flap its wings a thousand times a minute to reach its destinations, imagine what you can do! (Author unknown)
The monarch butterfly on a bed of phlox is a lovely scene from my mother’s garden. The phlox were cuttings taken from the garden of my mentor during my practice teaching days in college over 30 years ago. Dear old Mrs. Branton who gave me the cuttings has long since passed away, but her flowers live on and so do the memories I have of her. She was a great inspiration to me and she would have approved of the sentiment on this image!

Very nice capture Bonnie. The composition is excellent. Great job with DOF to soften the focus of the background phlox and layout is perfect to accommodate the inspirational message. Agree with Adam . . . i.e., could easily see this selling … good luck!!

This one’s a prize winner. Vibrant floral images, exquisite butterfly king, and a proverbial sentiment to encourage even the most downtrodden soul. This lovely eye-catcher emits good taste, tender emotion and artistic flair – and should be stamped with a Hallmark on the back. Mrs. Branton must be smiling ~ I know I am.
