Bridal Wreath Bough Against the Sky
Bridal wreath is one of those spring flowers that are just enchanting. Mini bouquets of tiny white florets (thanks, Krys) interspersed along long willowy branches, these little beauties are a welcome sight as winter fades and spring greets us with her sunny blue skies.

Wow, this just pops off the page! Excellent work Bonnie, that bg is gorgeous!
This is one of my fav spring flowers!
Bonnie T. Barry replied
Thanks so much, Joni! I almost popped off the globe trying to get this shot. The March winds were whipping like crazy and sending this little bough into a tailspin (and me too). I kept having to wait for it to die down so I could try again. Finally did it! It was fun!
Ellen
Excellent photo of this flower with beautiful colors!
Bonnie T. Barry replied
Thank you, Ellen. Has spring arrived in the Netherlands yet? Bet the ladybirds are waiting for you to start snapping their photos!

A few days ago, I saw 2 ladybirds outside. (still it was cold here) I took them inside and put them in a big glass with some green leafes. They were dead the next morning and i still dont know why.
I have done that last year, only to take photo’s of them and after about 3 days i put them into nature again. This time they died. Anyway, its still not spring here and very cold and rainy weather. Maybe in a few weeks it will be better. Best regards, Ellen.
Christine Boretti
Wonderful image!
Bonnie T. Barry replied
Thank you, Christine. In keeping with the story I wrote about my blind friend, I’m reminded of how blessed we are to have the gift of sight and to enjoy such beauty day after day. Surely increases the sense of appreciation in me!
Diane Schuster
Stunning color contrast, just beautiful! Dee
Bonnie T. Barry replied
Thanks so much, Dee. Spring and I are best buddies so I spend lots of my day outdoors during these months! I hope you’re enjoying it too or will be soon!
Krys Bailey
What a glorious blossom this is! The florets are DOUBLE too!!!!! Against a blue sky, what could be more springlike?!!!! Absolutely gorgeous! A feast for the eyes! ;o)
Bonnie T. Barry replied
Thanks so much, Krys. Do you have bridal wreathe in the UK? This is the same bush where I found the amorous ladybirds. Oh, and thanks for the word “florets” I was scouring my brain to remember it when I wrote the description and couldn’t. I knew flowerlets didn’t sound right and of course the spell check knew it, too. I’ll change that promptly in my description. So glad you jogged my memory!
jesika
Krys has said it all, I can only echo her words.

Bonnie T. Barry replied
Thanks so much, Jesika! I hope you and Jim are well and that you photo session with the “brain” next door proves successful. I’m sure it will. I appreciate your comments as always and of course our friendship!

I was wondering what this is! Is it Spirea??
Bonnie T. Barry replied
I’ve only known this as bridal wreath in the past, but I looked it up and it’s also referred to as bridal wreath spirea. Thanks, Krys, you’ve educated me once again. You’re a teacher always on your toes!

Nanagahma
Very nice contrast with the white against the blue sky. Lovely shot.
Bonnie T. Barry replied
Thanks, Nanagahma! When I approached the bridal wreath, it occurred to me to get down at ground level and look up into the sky while photographing the boughs. It turned out to be a good thing! Just had to fight to wind and wait for times of respite between gusts!
loramae
Such a beautiful flower, never seen nor heard of it.
Bonnie T. Barry replied
Each flower is actually very tiny and delicate, Lora Mae. Yet, somehow the florets are sturdy and sway gracefully on long willowy boughs even in the roughest winds without falling apart. Thank you for your kind attention. God bless!

Aaah, the early signs of a New Awakening. Springtime is my favourite time of the year.
Gorgeous blooms against an azure sky.
Bonnie T. Barry replied
Spring is my favorite time of year, too; I was born April 30; maybe that’s why. Thank you for your kind comments and enjoy the season in good health and with your camera always poised for the next find!
